Meet Just A Few of the People Who Have Been Helped

By Linda McCroft And The Tap Yourself Slim Programme

Debi's story

Through attending the Tap Yourself Slim programme I have shed over a stone in weight, and am no longer ruled by food.

Before joining the programme I was in an unrewarding relationship. I felt fat and unattractive. I wasn't being true to myself and was comfort eating to make myself feel better.

I had realised that I was putting on weight each year and at 43 yrs felt that it wasn't going to get any better so I was thinking of going to a slimming club even though I knew that it wouldn't suit me. I find that kind of approach humiliating. Then a friend told about Linda and Tap Yourself Slim .

I went with an open mind. Although it does seem a bit strange at first. My friend who had done the course with good results said she had been transformed by it. Although I was aware of EFT I hadn't heard of TYS before my friend told me of it .

From the start Linda was very easy to talk to, down to earth and friendly. The sessions were relaxed and informal. Linda has a knack of understanding what's going on with someone on an emotional level and guiding them, through statements and tapping, to get to core issues which then, in turn, releases them from overeating or abusing themselves in some way. In other words helping people to love themselves. Linda is Brilliant. Very intuitive, fun and assertive.

TYS gave me hope!! I felt in control of food instead of it controlling me.

My self esteem grew. I had more confidence. I lost weight. I was able to face fears and overcome hurdles that had been holding me back. I liked myself then started loving and being good to myself. I got a job and started setting up my own business. I believe in myself. I feel strong! The list is endless its been a TRANSFORMATION!! Oh and I just keep shedding the weight. I'm also now single and enjoying it..

I was 12stone 2pounds when I started, 11stone 2pounds when the programme finished and am now 10stone 10 pounds. I have dropped two dress sizes and shed 20 inches in all. I have continued to shed weight and have found the concepts easy to follow as they feel natural and I was surprised at how easy it has been to stop overeating. At no time have I felt that I'm on a diet and having to deny myself any kind of food.

If you are reading this as you would like to lose weight but not sure about TYS I would say look at me! And go with an open mind, you will not be disappointed as long as you're willing to tap.

Naomi's Story

The biggest benefit of the course is that I have managed to control my eating and recognise when I am really hungry for food and when I am just bored. I used to turn to food for comfort, when I was bored, sad and lonely being afraid to eat.

I have been amazed at how much more positive I have felt about myself and how I have overcome my fear of food. I became more confident in myself and how I was feeling. Food has been a big issue throughout my life and I have always turned to it to make me feel better. At the time it helps but afterwards when you are feeling bloated and sick and the weight starts to creep on it just makes you feel worse. I am starting to believe in myself. It has helped me with my long term depression.

I found Linda to be extremely approachable and very knowledgeable it was as though she could read my thoughts and knew exactly what to say when it came to the tapping statements. Linda has helped me to get to the root of the problem and deal with the issues that I have been avoiding for so long. She has been extremely supportive and understanding and made the evenings enjoyable and interesting.

I am very interested in alternative therapies and they tend to work better for me than more traditional methods so it was easy for me to join Tap Yourself Slim. I liked to think I kept an open mind but I am sure deep down there was a thought about “How can this work?”

I haven't eaten any crisps since the first evening. I was addicted to them and would often eat 4 or 5 packets a time. They now taste like I am eating cheap cooking oil. I have gone for 9 weeks without eating them and have no plans to eat them again soon. So far I have lost 5lbs and about 6 inches but haven't quite finished the programme yet.

The programme is run in a lovely relaxed setting and the notes have all been very useful. It was helpful having a folder with all the information in one place. I look forward to attending the support groups from time to time.

I have met some lovely people through the course and my mum has noticed a big difference in me, she commented that I appear much happier now and more relaxed. I will definitely continue with the tapping as it has been very beneficial

For anyone thinking of joining Tap Yourself Slim I would recommend they gave it a try it is worth the money and can help with so many things.

The principles of EFT are very simple and they have become a part of my life. I have really enjoyed the course and feel like a new person.  I hope that others will follow in my footsteps and realise what a great thing tapping is to help with all sorts of issues.

Sue's story

Through following the Tap Yourself Slim programme I've learned a huge amount
about myself & why I was overeating and how to overcome those triggers.

Before joining the programme I suffered from poor self-image, lethargy/tiredness, lack of motivation and obviously excess weight mainly through eating too many carbs especially in the evening. I am 56 and my BMI was just into the obese range, which horrified me. I needed/wanted to lose 2.5 to 3 stone.

I first met Linda at a couple of Mind Body Spirit fairs and was attracted to the idea as I have used EFT at a basic level for some time and knew that it works, but I felt I needed to learn much more about the words used.

After the first session I stopped wanting chocolate! I lost weight very slowly for the first few weeks (about 1lb per week) although I did lose inches due to taking more exercise. As EFT helped me work through my personal “issues” I became much more focused and enthusiastic about losing weight and becoming more healthy and with one week to go I know I will have lost over a stone by the end of the course.

Linda creates an atmosphere which makes it easier to talk about personal challenges and issues and everyone in our group has managed to open up, which I am sure is a great help with stopping comfort eating as well as general wellbeing.

I have generally learned a lot about myself and why I do the things I do. I am much kinder to myself and find that others respond to that. I have made new friends and would like to learn more about EFT as a therapy in general.

If anyone is a little sceptical about this unusual way to lose weight I would say “don't knock it till you've tried it”. TYS is a tool for life and deals with why you find it difficult to lose weight. Most of us know what to eat to be slim and healthy, we need the tools to make that easy to do and TYS is the best I have come across.

I found Linda to be very calm and intuitive. She has a way of picking up on what we are doing “wrong” and feeding it back to us in a very gentle and positive way so that we can work on it during the personal tapping time. She instils confidence and encourages openness.

The content worked very well for me. I did wonder whether it might be good to have a 2 week gap between wks 9 and 10 to see how we get on without the class and to give a chance for more “yes buts” etc to be raised, but I do recognise that could make scheduling awkward.

Looking forward to next Tuesday but sort of sad it's the last one.

Rachel's story

I have lost nearly two stones using the tapping procedure, but what is even more brilliant and a bigger benefit is that I have found a solution to the many and intense anxiety and worrying thoughts I used to have. I now hardly ever feel anxious and if I do I tap those anxious feelings away! It's brilliant - I have now learned EFT and use it everyday as a spiritual growth tool and benefit from it everyday!

Before I joined the programme I was eating a lot and was not in control of the amounts or types of food I was eating. Even though I wanted to lose weight I couldn't stop myself from eating loads and then feeling guilty about it. I didn't realise I was eating to stuff down the anxious feelings I was having about wanting to be a good mum, as I'd recently become a mother.

My friend Katherine told me that she had started the Tap Yourself Slim course and I was desperate to find an 'alternative' and easy way to lose weight as I had tried Weight Watchers and just didn't have the will power to stick to the daily points allowance. When I checked out Linda's website which said I wouldn't need any will power, I knew straight away to give it a go, even though I had not heard of EFT or tapping before . I was desperate as Christmas was coming up and I did not want to get even fatter!

I was desperate to lose weight and couldn't through dieting. I was then considering Slim Fast but this goes against everything I love about food and knew there must be an easier way and there was!! Losing weight through tapping was so so easy! I can still eat everything I love and I love cake and chocolate and still lose weight - how awesome is that?!

My husband and I did the weight loss course privately together and released a lot of emotional baggage that we were unaware we had, so not only did we lose weight but our relationship improved as well. Linda helped Richard and I see things from the other persons perspective. I never even considered that maybe courgettes tasted differently to him and so would always include them in my cooking even though Rich hates them. I don't anymore!

I didn't realise that I had cravings for food, I just thought I was hungry ALL the time! I began to see that I had big cravings for sweet foods and something to eat whilst watching TV. The first session put me back in control of what I ate rather than being dominated by my food cravings.

During the programme I lost weight, felt less anxious, uncovered and released lots of emotions and thought patterns that were hindering my life. I've learnt a new therapy (EFT) that is so empowering and effective and now share this with others.

I've lost a total of 23 pounds so I've lost another 9 pounds after the programme had finished. I've gone from a size 18 to a 14. some clothes a 12. It's been really easy, I might now go through the programme again to shift some more excess weight. I've maintained the weight loss easily but would like now to lose some more so will focus my daily tapping on this again.

If you are like me and desperate to lose weight but think the ‘tapping' concept a bit strange I'd say I don't think it matters if we understand how something works, as long as its effective is the main thing! I don't understand how electricity works or how my car works but it does and I don't question it I just drive it, and for me this has definitely been effective and easy. It is more then good, it's miraculous! Allow miracles to happen in your life and they'll become more common!

The most challenging part of the programme was keeping on with the tapping - I found that even though I knew the tapping was working there was a resistance to tap, which I had to work on, as this was a layer of self-sabotage. I persisted though and it was definitely worth it and something to be aware of.

Linda is a lovely lady, very loving, gentle, suggestive without dictating, supportive and encouraging.

Katherine's story

I put on a lot of weight during pregnancy over five years ago. Although I was able to lose small amounts of weight periodically, I was struggling to achieve consistent weight loss.

I heard about Tap Yourself Slim but I was sceptical at first even though I am open to energy medicine. I just couldn't see how tapping would make any difference and initially my scepticism put me off joining the class. What I didn't realise at first was that the TYS programme brings together all the necessary aspects of losing weight.

On the first evening we tapped on food cravings. I was finding it hard to stop snacking in the evenings so I focussed on that. This worked straight away and I easily stopped eating in the evenings. I lost weight straight away. The tapping offers a quick relief to food cravings which made a real quick start to losing weight. This convinced me that the tapping was something extraordinary and to continue doing it, no matter what!

I use tapping for everything now. I've seen it work for headaches, realeasing negative emotions like anxiety. I've also used it with my five year old son and it's brilliant.

I lost 15lbs on the programme and have steadily lost weight since. The principles taught are now a way of life to me and I can't imagine it being any other way.

I've lost 2 stone 5 lbs since joining the programme and am now at my goal weight. In fact I now weigh less than I did before I became pregnant and I feel fantastic.

The support group was very welcome after the programme finished. I was enjoying the programme so much I didn't want it to end, in fact I had to tap on that issue too! The support group sessions helped me stay focussed and committed, but most of all they helped me reach my overall goal.

A lot of people may think the concept ‘too good to be true'. I agree it is strange but I can definitely vouch for it being very very true. I encourage everyone to try it as you've got nothing to lose – except weight, and you can have a lot of fun doing it.

The only thing I'd add is that it works best when you do some daily tapping, if not, you don't give it a chance to work.

Linda, my TYS slimming coach, always knows just what to say – she's very gifted in EFT and specifically in conveying the weight loss principles. She also has a fabulous sense of humour, making sure you just won't want the programme to end!

I also liked how you had the opportunity to have some individual tapping each week on anything that you were particularly struggling with. Therefore you have the benefit of being in a small group and feeling the support of others plus you get some individual attention. Excellent.

Judith's story 

Life is a big challenge. I tended to overeat no matter what the occasion or emotion was.......   usually "filled the space" with food.

I heard about you from a friend who had tapped with you for a different reason. She knew that you were starting a Tap Yourself Slim class and told me about it. I had watched a bit of the Paul McKenna programme on the TV last year. I thought that it was interesting but it seemed too good to be true...... made up for TV!!   The Tap Yourself Slim classes sounded a bit similar so I decided to see if it really worked.......  but, I was a little sceptical about it.

I first made contact through a phone call...... you seemed very bright, friendly and easy to get along with. Not in any way pushy. I did not hesitate and decided immediately to join.

After the first week, I had lost about 3 lbs and a couple of inches.......  the first benefit was that I really had no desire to "fill that hole".... and had no cravings at all.

The weight continued to drop off at a fairly consistent 1½ lbs per week. I became very positive in every day life and I have a good and positive feeling about myself that I had been missing for some time.

In total I lost 15 lbs and around 12 inches during the course of the programme. I will continue to follow the pattern which the tapping seems to have set for me and hope to continue losing at the same rate..... and I intend to attend the support group sessions

I would certainly recommend tapping to anyone......  and even if it does seem a bit strange at first...... if it works.... so what!!!

Linda is a great teacher.... she makes everyone feel welcome and tries to understand where they are coming from with their emotional challenges.......  her tapping is mixed with a bit of light humour, so the class is not too intense.......    the whole experience of Linda's TYS programme was extremely pleasant and I look forward to taking more of her classes or workshops.
