Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
And
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
EFT and NLP are two of the most impressive and effective therapy techniques around today. They are being used by some areas of the NHS to help people recover from limiting emotional problems. Why? Because, they work much quicker than counselling and other talk based therapies.
The huge bonus with EFT and NLP
Once you learn the EFT tapping and NLP processes you will be able to use them on your own to clear cravings and emotions that keep you stuck in the diet and food trap. This will leave you free to enjoy a little of any fun food while choosing healthy options most of the time. No willpower. No diet. No shakes or bars.
About Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
EFT is one of the fastest growing complementary therapies known today. It was developed in 1995 by Gary Craig, a Stanford trained engineer. Although EFT is relatively new, the principles behind it go back thousands of years and EFT is closely related to acupuncture, except we don't use needles. EFT works on the body's meridian system which is where our chi (or ki) energy flows. If this energy becomes blocked it will cause a physical, emotional or psychological problem within the body . In acupuncture fine needles are used to release these blockages but with EFT you tap with your fingertips on the acupressure points. The vibration from the tapping releases the blockage and returns the energy back to free flowing energy. The physical, emotional or psychological problem is no longer there.
EFT releases cravings
When trying to lose weight or stick to a diet, cravings can play havoc with your good intentions. When you start to notice when these cravings come you will begin to identify your own triggers. Are you always hungry when you get home from dropping the children to school. Or sitting watching TV in the evening?
“On the first evening we tapped on food cravings. I was finding it hard to stop snacking in the evenings so I focussed on that. This worked straight away and I easily stopped eating in the evenings. I lost weight straight away. The tapping offers a quick relief to food cravings which made a real quick start to losing weight. This convinced me that the tapping was something extraordinary and to continue doing it, no matter what!” Katherine

EFT releases negative feelings and emotions
Do you find you eat when you are bored, tired, anxious, angry, sad, worried , or when you feel less than happy with some aspect of your life? It is these feelings that lead to the so called ‘comfort eating'. The EFT tapping can quickly relieve these feelings. Without the feelings you no longer need to ‘comfort eat' and you will notice the weight start to drop away …… easily.
About Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP is about how we communicate. The way we structure our communication with others will determine how successful we are at getting the message across. In the context of Tap Yourself Slim we teach you how to communicate with yourself in a helpful encouraging way.
That voice inside your head
Just for a moment imagine you own internal dialogue. Yes, we all have one. It's the voice inside your head that says “You know you want it, just have it, no-one will stop you”. Then as soon as you succumb it pipes up again “Now see what you've done. You were doing so well, why did you go and mess it up. You don't have enough willpower to diet, you've blown it now so you may as well eat anything you want today and start again tomorrow ”.
Now imagine yourself working. It could be any job, or even helping someone out. Your boss, or the person in charge comes up to you and says:
“You're doing it all wrong, I showed you how to do it. Are you stupid or something? Can't you do anything right? You may as well give up now. I can't believe you just did that. You're so dumb.”
How would you feel? Now imagine a different boss, or person in charge came up to you and said,
“How are you getting on? It looks like you are struggling with that. What can I do to help? It takes time to learn something new, it took me ages to. Would you like me show you again. You'll be brilliant when you get he hang of it, don't worry if it takes a while. You're doing really well. Let me know if you need me again. I'm happy to help”.
Which of the two bosses would you prefer to work for? Which one would you try harder to please? I'm guessing you'd choose the supportive and helpful one. No wonder it is so hard to lose weight when your own internal ‘boss' talks to you in such a negative way.
Learn how to be slim
How you communicate with yourself will greatly affect your results. If you think you are fat then you'll be more likely to overeat and create a self fulfilling prophecy.
Richard Bandler and John Grinder, the creators of NLP discovered that if one person is able to do something, then by establishing what that person does by way of thoughts and actions, another person can learn to do the same by taking on the same thoughts and completing the same actions. In Tap Yourself Slim we teach you how to become slim by using NLP to help you change your thoughts, habits and behaviours around food.
